“Things usually work out in the end. What if they don’t ? ‘That just means you haven’t come to the end yet.”

This quote relates to the subject of Self-sufficiency as, it shows that the Walls family have always taught their kids to keep going forward without giving up. This small conversation shows how at a young age she was taught to keep her head up and keep moving forward and be independent. This picture represents self-sufficiency as well as Jeanette as at a young age she was taught to keep moving forward and that no one will walk you through life.

"Everyone has something good about them, she said you have to find the redeeming quality and love the person for that. Oh yeah? I said. How about hitler? what was his redeeming quality? Hitler loved dogs, Mom said without hesitation"
This quote shows how forgiveness can be applied even in cases where Forgiveness can be applied. To me this picture shows the strength and power of forgiveness within the family.

Unconditional Love

"Dad turned into an angry-eyed stranger who threw around furniture and threatened to beat up mom or anyone else who got into his way."
The picture represents the unconditional love that jeannette shares with her dad. In the book her relationship with her dad is an interesting one as at times he can do some messed up things. This quote lets readers know that even after the wrongs her dad does she will always love him.
