During WWI, Russia was undergoing a communist revolution by the Bolsheviks which was strongly opposed by capitalist powerhouse of America. Since the US was so opposed to communist Russia, in 1920, they sent aid to anti communist powers within the country to stop communism from spreading farther. This mission was unsuccessful and ruined diplomatic relations between the two countries for a decade. The tension continued between the two countries until the end of WWII when Stalin, the dictator of Soviet Union got a hold of an Atomic Bomb.
