Language means a lot for me. That's because it's our way for humans to communicate with eachother and tell eachother our stories and feelings so we can understand one another. It's a beautiful way to speak ourselves.

All these languages that exist now are used by billions of people. Every person that lives in an other part of the world also speaks a different language. But all these different languages are the same. We sometime use different letters, characters or even symbols. They are all different from eachother but also so the same. Because we use these languages to talk with eachother and sometimes we need to learn other languages to understand some people.

I really like languages and especially learning foreign languages. I learned Dutch while in school and i am fluent in it. I learned English by myself by watching movies, English tv-series and reading English books. I would say i am fairly good in English but i wouldn't say im fluent in it. I would and can still improve in a lot of parts of the English language. I can understand a huge part of Mandarin and can speak it a little bit. It's the same for German and French. I learned these two languages in school. I can also understand a bit of Korean and can speak a little bit of it. I learned this all by watching Korean dramas/series and listening to Korean songs.

My opinion on The Languages

Languages is a huge part of my life, actually i think for all humans lives. But why that is, is because i can learn a lot of all these different languages. Such as the different meanings it holds and the different cultures it pairs with. I like learning new things. It interests me. Also because of the English language i made a lot of friends via the internet. Because all these people i talk with are all from different parts of the world and have all a native language they speak but when we talk to eachother, we communicate in English. So in conclusion i love the Languages that exist right now. It makes us as humans closer with eachother even though we don't know eachother personally.💜

The Ted Talk

I watched a Ted Talk by Anne Curzan. She was talking about ""What makes a word real?" She talked about how authors of dictionaries listen to us, the people that make new words and how they add it to the dictionaries. We as humans make up new words and if we think these new words will still exist and be used frequently, that's how words become real. So we are actually "living dictionaries". We are making the languages not die out by coming up with new words. I enjoyed watching the Ted Talk, because it was something entirely else then i would watch and it made me think that we as humans are pretty smart.
