All this money spent on health care goes toward the providers of health goods and services. These consist of places where the public can receive health care and health goods such as hospitals, general practitioners, specialized care centers, community-based services, and private sectors. Most of what is spent goes to hospitals being the number one in health spending and than the second is medical services or general practitioners.

Australia has been performing very highly in health statistics. Life expectancy for Australian women is the third highest globally, and for men it is the fourth highest, according to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare. Australia’s health care providers are all properly trained and well educated to give great health care to their patients and you can see that in this poll that shows how happy patients are with the quality of care they are receiving.

Every country has their own health care system
and runs it differently but they all have one goal, which is to assure the people are able to have access to the health care that is needed at a reasonable cost. Australia’s health care system provides everyone with access to a wide range of services to adhere to all and any health needs.

As you can see from this poll more people would like to have private health care if possible over the public health care that is offered. This is mainly due to the fact that private health care will cover more and gives one more options such as picking their own doctor.

Medicare in Australia was introduced in 1984; it provided free and/or subsidized treatment by health professionals. This Medicare is for all Australian citizens and residents. Since medicare is so open it causes for long waits to see doctors and a smaller choose in the doctors willing to treat/see a patient. Private health care the patients are able to choose their own doctor and there is no or a very small waiting time to see the doctor fro treatments. But private health care has to be paid for.

Health care spending is broke up between the government, and other lower levels of
government such as state and local, out-of-pocket payments, and the private
insurers. Even though the government covers most of the health care spending, individuals contributed around $24.8 billion out-of-pocket on purchasing health services . Most of the out-of-pocket payments that individuals make are for medicines and dental services. $24.8 billion out-of-pocket payments might seem like a great deal but it is actually less then the yearly out of pocket payments made in the United States.
