One of the worst campaigns of mass slaughter since World War Two. The brutal conflict between North and South Sudan has lead to the deaths of 2.5 million civilians. In Darfur, located to the west and several other regions, is where these clashes are the most brutal. Since the nineteen fifties, the Sudanese government (under the control of Arabs), has been attempting to control the country's African minorities, leading to mass conflicts across the country. Though the Sudanese Civil War ended and Southern Sudan has earned its independence, the violence that inflicts itself upon the country is still, very much intact. In both the southern and western Sudan, the government established a pattern of extreme assaults against the civilian population. Some of these tactics include, the bombing of schools, hospital, clinics and other common sites needed by civilians. The governments of the neighboring countries, all played a significant role in the Sudan conflict. Some other countries that were involved were China, The US, and the United Kingdom. There is a peace process for Sudan, because of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development, gained momentum for the signing of a framework for peace in July of 2002. The Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) was signed by the government and in doing so, ended the two-decade war and provided the framework in which that the south vouched for peace.
This example of genocide is similar to the Holocaust because a mass killing of civilians because of their racial ethnicity's was present in both communities and was a perfect example of Genocide in that period.

The Khmer Rouge murdered officials of the former government and soldiers marched them out to the countryside to make them work. They started killing people of Vietnamese decent because after the Vietnam war a refugee crisis was sparked along the eastern border. The goal of it was to make a classless agrarian utopia. It caused many people to die just like the holocaust. The UN tried the leaders for war crimes in an Cambodian court.

By: Evie Taylor and Gwyneth Miller (p.6)

Since gaining independence from France in 1960, the Central African Republic (CAR) has struggled to provide safety and security for its people. In 2013, a group of Muslim rebels banded together against the Republic and killed civilians. Religious tensions caused division in the population. And massive crisis destroyed the CAR's infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and towns. The Obama Administration struggles to prevent atrocities in the CAR. This genocide was similar to the holocaust because a religious group fought another due to beliefs. This cause many fights and mass killings of many innocent men, woman, and kids from all ages.

Democratic Republic of the Congo - Megan Bates and Rebekah Swyers

The thought of genocide started in 1996, when the people in the country were going against the two types of people; the Congolese people, and the Rwanda people. It happened in a country that used to be called Zaire and is now called the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The genocide happened because of the first war of 1996, the Rwanda genocide perpetrators preyed on the Congolese people, and as they took over Zaire's government, they continued killing the Congolese humans. The world, in response, tried to stop this genocide, and help the people need. Some of the similarities between the Democratic Republic of the Congo genocide and the Holocaust are that millions of people died for practically no reason than their race, and that there were only two types of people, the ones for the genocide, and the ones who were in it. No one stood up to stop it.
