Really would like to celebrate the fact that your goal is for learners to generalize their learning to other content areas. Why? Good thinking is good thinking and your goal is to get kids to think deeply and go through a process.
I am wondering how this will translate, if at all, to your robotics course.

We often hear "why do we need to do this?" and I think if you make it something that can be beneficial for their own lives, you will find more commitment to the lessons/project/coursework.
