The festival is open on the weekends from November 17^th through December 3rd. Some of your students have volunteered in the past and did an outstanding job.   The ideal volunteer needs to be able to communicate with the public, process sales through our sales app on an ipad, and make cash change. We provide training for the Sales App. If students bring their community service forms, we will sign them at the end of their shift.

We need a group of volunteers to help during the day on December 28th and/or 29th with a year-end cleanup of our facility in Groveland. We are gearing up for our next transport of rescued puppies and kittens in January and could really use some help getting things ready! The event will be led by adult Sweet Paws volunteers and we'd be thrilled to have 10-12 student volunteers on Thursday (10-12 or 12-2) and 4-6 on Friday (12-2 or 2-4) help with moving, organizing, and cleaning. If fixing things is a talent, we can also use help with some small repairs around the facility.

• Clean up help needed from 8:30-9:30pm

Students can volunteer for any amount of time on these dates. Volunteers would be unpacking boxes/bags of books and placing
them on tables that are arranged by subject matter. We provide plenty of guidance and most readers love this sorting process.

Students can volunteer for any amount of time on these dates. During sale days the room always needs straightening up and
books returned to appropriate categories.

Located on Plum Island, MA., this coastal refuge is 4600 acres of salt marsh, beach, dunes, and shrubland type forest. It contains a pristine 6 mile beach just an hour from Boston and is a premier birding spot with over 300 species of birds.

The candidate will work in the refuge's very busy fee booth collecting fees, selling passes, answering questions, explaining regulations, and acting as the dispatch for the Refuge's law enforcement. Incumbent will learn valuable public lands management skills and have an opportunity to occasionally assist with biological projects. Light maintenance such as pruning, weed wacking, and painting will be performed by this candidate. Work is mainly completed in the fee booth with skill in multi tasking, using a cash register and handling stressful situations. Heat, biting insects, and inclement weather will be experienced on the refuge.

An ability to handle many different types of people and situations is beneficial including the ability to tactfully handle angry crowds on hot days. A background check is required, valid driver's license, and ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in various temperatures. Free excellent housing with large private bedroom is offered on site. No pets allowed.

Development and Education internship: 2 available, 8 weeks, 4 to 8 hours per week; this is a hybrid opportunity with 2–4 hours per week in person either at our facility or at a local event

• Support the Development team by performing online research, spreadsheet management, and analysis in support of sweet paws efforts to win grant funding and increase donations to support operations and special projects.

• Work with the Junior Rescue team to research and propose a design for a curriculum that will offer hands-on activities and education for elementary and middle school students and their families.

Marketing and Rescue Operations internship: 2 available, 8 weeks, 4 to 8 hours per week; this is a hybrid opportunity with 2–4 hours per week in person either at our facility or at local events. 

• Assist with fundraising programs, event planning, and development of marketing materials. Build skills in content creation, social media management, graphic design, and website design and edits.

• Learn about the behind the scenes work required to run an Animal Rescue including maintaining our animal care facility, transporting and caring for animals, and interacting with local Animal Control Officers, vets, and adopters.

Saving People One Animal At A Time

The intent is to teach young adults about the field of Human Services. The interns work for Turning Point in a community based setting. The programs are located in Danvers, Peabody, Newburyport, Amesbury and Salisbury MA. 

As a participant in this program, you will have many opportunities to explore the Human Service Field and see how it operates. By being involved with this program we hope to spark your interest in the field of human services along with other similar fields working with people of all abilities. You will be provided with various training as well as the opportunity to work 1:1 with adults who have developmental disabilities. As part of your internship you will have the opportunity to work in an office & residential setting that offers individuals a variety of activities such as community inclusion, community outings, and clinical and therapeutic support. 

The hours are Monday through Saturday 30+ hours scheduled to be determined. The program starts June 17th and goes until August 16th, 2024.
