The Declaratory Act was an act passed due to the repeal of the Stamp Act, the Declaratory Act was an act that stated that the British Parliament had the same power in Britain as it does there. This was more or less the British reminding the colonists they had to obey Britain, this of course did not sit well with the colonists as the British passed more acts that increased taxes on the colonists.

The Acts that Britain passed to increase control and taxes of the colonies were enforced by an increase in British troops in the colonies. This only increased the tensions between the Colonists and the British, a mob in Boston surrounded and verbally abused a British soldier who was then backed up by a group of 7 soldiers led by Captain Preston, the 8 of the soldiers continued to be insulted by the mob until one of them fired without orders which caused the others to shoot. In order to calm the mob only dispersed after Governor Thomas Hutchinson promised a hearing.

The Boston Tea Party was a protest against the Tea Act of 1773 which allowed the British East India Company to sell tea without having to pay taxes (except for taxes imposed by the Townshend Acts). The Sons of Liberty (a revolutionary organization) boarded East India Company ships in the Boston Harbor and threw the chests of tea into the Harbor. The Tea Party encouraged other colonists to rebel and played a big part in helping the resistance movement.

The Boston Tea Party is directly responsible for the Intolerable Act which was passed with the sole intention of punishing Massachusetts. The act took away self governance and other rights the colony had. Massachusetts of course did not like the Intolerable Act which would lead to a growing drive to rebel in the colonists that heard of the Act. This would be one of the final Acts the British would pass before the Revolutionary War would begin in 1775.
